Slow week

Figuratively and literally. First, no training, so no racing, so nothing to write about, sorry.Slow week literally because I've been riding my campus bike to get around. A long time ago this Peugeot was top of the line, now it's not.
At one point I was taking this thing on the race ride and to the top of Mix Canyon. Now I'm just one of those guys on campus with the noisy powertrain and wobbly wheel. I used to make fun of those people!!Comments

You seem like a nice guy so I'll do you a favor. I'll give you 50 bucks for it and I'll even come by to haul it away. Then you can take the money and buy yourself a real campus bike at the auction on Saturday.

Hey, just wanted to say I am keeping an eye on your evolution in the sport. It's fun for me. I grew up running XC and middle distance stuff, as well as ski racing at the national level, but a knee injury when I was 20 led me to cyling. I raced a lot as a II, and for two years with the old powerhouse Ten Speed Drive team. I also loved the hills. Now in my 40s and done with graduate school etc., I am getting back into running, although I do ride quite a bit, mostly to cross train for running, right now. I won a local (Tucson AZ) 5k trail run this summer (22:28) the first race of any kind I've won in a long ass time.I hope to train myself up to a reasonable condition this winter and have my eye on mt. trail running, 10ks, and duathalons. You need to meet Ned Overend; he's an old friend of mine, and one hell of a runner, amongst other things. Later. Try not to crash. Pickens.
